As the only village in Havering, indeed in metropolitan London, outside the M25, North Ockendon sits on the edge of the east London fenland. Its unique rural history is recorded in the medieval church where St Cedd’s Well celebrates the baptism of pilgrims on route across the fens to the River Thames.
