Mega Mega Visual Identity Design (Graphic Designer / Studio)

Seeking a graphic designer or design studio to create the visual identity for Mega Mega, an immersive exhibition exploring Romford’s electronic music and club culture heritage (1989–1999)
From HAVERINGLondon Commissions

Havering London is seeking a graphic designer or design studio to create the visual identity for Mega Mega, an immersive exhibition exploring Romford’s electronic music and club culture heritage (1989–1999). At this stage, the commission is focused on developing a strong and flexible identity system. There may be the opportunity to extend the commission to include exhibition graphics, way finding and publication design.

About Mega Mega

Mega Mega explores a decisive decade in Romford’s musical history, when record shops, pirate radio stations, labels and promoters shaped the sound of London and Essex.
The exhibition combines immersive sound environments, archive material and newly recorded oral histories. It positions club culture as a form of social infrastructure, built through shared knowledge, experimentation and DIY energy.

The identity should:

  • Reference the visual language of rave culture (flyers, pirate radio graphics, record labels, DIY print)
  • Feel rooted in Romford and suburban Havering and Essex
  • Appeal to younger audiences encountering this history for the first time
  • Avoid nostalgia pastiche
  • Be adaptable across digital, print and spatial environments
