Poetic Place Workshops

Aged 11 - 25? Explore identity, place and imagination through poetry and spoken word in these free workshops.
From HAVERINGLondon Co-Creation

These workshops invite young people and diverse local communities to explore identity, place and imagination through poetry and spoken word. Whether you’ve written before or are trying it for the first time, you’ll be supported to express your voice and reflect on what Havering means to you – now and in the future.

Workshops are open to community groups, schools and charities working with children and young people aged 11-25, as well as residents from marginalised communities across Havering. We’re especially keen to welcome those who identify as LGBTQIA+, disabled, or from Black, Asian and other ethnic minority backgrounds. No experience needed – just curiosity and a willingness to take part.

Sessions will run in community settings across the borough. We’ll use worksheets, photos, objects and tech to spark ideas, and you’ll leave with a piece of writing you can take home.

Free —register now to take part by emailing hello@haveringlondon.com

Selected poems will be featured in public displays across Havering in 2026.
