Volunteer Transcribers Wanted: Mega Mega

Do you love music, local history, stories — or just fancy getting behind the scenes of a major exhibition?

As part of the ongoing Havering Unearthed programme, exploring heritage in Havering, Havering London is looking for volunteer transcribers to help us capture Romford and Havering’s clubbing and music history for the forthcoming Mega Mega exhibition.

We’ve been collecting oral histories from people who lived this history including clubbers, DJs, producers, record shop regulars, and we need help turning those recorded conversations into transcripts that will inform the exhibition.

This is a flexible, remote opportunity, done entirely from home in your own time, so it can work around your schedule. You’ll build practical skills in transcription, oral history and heritage research, while getting behind the scenes of a major cultural project. You’ll also become part of the Mega Mega volunteer community, connecting with others helping to uncover, preserve and celebrate Romford’s music and clubbing history.
