Thames Chase
Transforming landscapes and lives since 1990, Thames Chase Community Forest is a partnership organisation encompassing an area that covers 98 square miles including Havering, Basildon, Brentwood, Barking and Dagenham and Redbridge. Our main focus is on forestry, regeneration, access and people.
Local History
A whole cavalcade of history has paraded across this area over the millennia – either east/west along the ancient Roman Road or via that great highway of the river Thames, diverted here during the Ice Ages; or north/south via the river valleys along prehistoric trade and medieval pilgrimage routes.
Thames Chase Community Forest lies at the heart of the area, stretching out along a network of footpaths, cycle and bridleways which, alongside local people, it is working to open, expand and link up for you to explore.
